The rather small pretty village of Rodakino is directly alongside the south coast road linking Plakias with Hora Sfakion. The village itself is small with only a few kafeneions and while new homes have been built in the area to enjoy the beautiful sea views, the main reason people come to Rodakino is the beach resort of Koraka which is nowadays referred to as Rodakino beach, as it is only 1,5 kms away from the village. There are several tavernas down on the beach. The beach itself is lovely white sand, and a gentle slope and one feels like one is a million miles away from the rush of any city or large resort although Rethymnon city is only 42 kms away. It truly is a relaxing and peaceful place and the surrounding countryside is spectacular.
