Lampini
A few words about the village...
Lampini is altitude of 400 metres above sea level, means that one has a very pleasant climate especially during the summer months when some people would find the temperatuares at sea level too hot for comfortable living. The village has about 150 inhabitants and does have a traditional kafenion. However, it is only 800 sq metres from Mixorouma and less than 4 kms to Spili where all services and shops can be found and only 20 minutes drive to the city of Rethynon. This tiny hamlet is well maintained and there is a charming old church in the village which is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and a popular tourist stop and photographic opportunity. Life in the village is generally quiet although it does liven up during the weekends. Local cheese and honey is sold in a roadside cabin near the Mixorouma and is well worth stopping for.
